초록

본 연구는 국제이주를 종합적으로 조망할 수 있는 이론 체계를 구축하여 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 선행연구 문헌분석을 통해 현재 논의되고 있는 각 국제이주 이론들의 특성 및 한계를 종합적으로 분석하였다. 또한, 정책학 이론인 체계모형을 적용하여 국제이주체계론을 구체화하여 통합이론 모형으로서 제시하였다.
연구 결과 국제이주 체계의 행위자, 구조, 관계를 명확하게 설명하는 이론적 토대가 구축됨으로써, 통합이론을 시도한 선행연구들이 지닌 모호함의 문제가 해소되었다. 이로써 국제이주 이론을 큰 틀에서 행위 중심, 구조 중심, 관계 중심 이론으로 구분한 선행연구 대분류 방식의 타당성과 설득력이 제고되었다.
본 연구의 분석 결과, 대부분의 이론들은 국제이주를 종합적으로 설명하는 데 다소 한계가 있음이 확인되었다. 반면, 이번 연구를 통해 이론적 토대가 구체화 된 국제이주체계론은 모형의 완성도가 높아져 국제이주 현상에 대한 통합적인 설명이 가능하게 되었다. 국제이주체계론 모형을 종합적인 이민정책 수립 및 집행에 활용한다면 보다 유용한 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to establish and present a theoretical system that can comprehensively view international migration. To this end, the characteristics and limitations of each international migration theory currently being discussed were analyzed through the analysis of previous research literature, and the international migration system theory was embodied and presented as an integrated theory model by applying the system model, which is a policy theory.
As a result of the study, the problem of ambiguity of previous studies that attempted integrated theory was resolved by establishing a theoretical basis for clearly explaining the actors, structures, and relationships of the international migration system. This improved the validity and persuasive power of the major classification method of previous studies that divided international migration theory into action-oriented, structure-oriented, and relationship-oriented theories in a large framework.
As a result of the analysis of this study, it was confirmed that most of the theories have some limitations in comprehensively explaining international migration. On the other hand, through this study, the theory of the international migration system, in which the theoretical basis is embodied, has increased the degree of completion of the model, enabling an integrated explanation of the international migration phenomenon. If the international migration system theory model is used to establish and implement comprehensive immigration policies, more useful results can be obtained.
