초록

한국 사회의 이주민 증가는 타자에 대한 논의를 부각시켰다. 다문화가정 지원정책의 일환으로 2008년부터 다문화가정 방문교육지도사는 다문화가족을 위한 돌봄을 실천하고 있다. 본 연구는 다문화가정 방문교육지도사가 어떤 연유로 돌봄을 실천하고 있는지 이들의 생애사를 통해 살펴보고 여기에 나타난 타자성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 3명의 방문교육지도사를 선정하고, 2022년 2월 11일부터 9월 1일까지 심층 인터뷰와 점검을 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 타자성의 시간성에 집중하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, ‘타자성 경험’, ‘관점의 변화’, ‘타자성 실천’이라는 주제가 도출되었다. 다문화가정 방문교육지도사의 타자성 경험은 방문교육 현장에서 타자성 실천으로 이어졌다. 방문교육에서 학습자와 지도사는 서로에게 침투하고 변화하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 소수 방문교육지도사의 타자성 실천이 한국의 다문화 사회를 이끄는 작은 씨앗이었음을 확인하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 한국의 다문화 사회를 공고히 준비하는 다양한 제안을 적었다.

The increase in migrants has highlighted the discussion of the other in Korean society. As part of the multicultural family support policy, visiting educators have been taking care of multicultural families since 2008. So, this study explored the experience and practice of otherness in the life history of them. To this end, three visiting educators were selected, and in-depth interviews and inspections were conducted from February 11 to September 1, 2022. The collected data was analyzed focusing on the temporality of the otherness. Result, the themes on ‘experience of otherness’, ‘change of perspective’, and ‘practice of otherness’ were derived. The experience on the otherness of visiting educators for multicultural families led to the practice of otherness in the field of visiting education. In visiting education, learners and educators infiltrate and change each other. Therefore, this study confirmed that the practice of otherness by a few number of visiting educators was a small seed leading the multicultural society in Korea. Based on the research results, it wrote various proposals to solidify Korea’s multicultural society.
