초록

이 연구는 다문화교육 지원정책에 대한 다문화가정 학부모들의 인식과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석함으로써 향후 한국 다문화교육 지원정책 수립 시 방향성에 시사점을 주는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 다문화청소년 패널조사 1기 9차 데이터 중 다문화가정 학부모가 다문화교육 지원정책에 대해 어떻게 인식하는 지와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정 학부모들은 다문화교육 정책 지원 시 다문화가정임이 드러나지 않게 지원해주길 선호하였으며 이에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인은 문화적응 스트레스인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화가정 학부모들은 다문화교육 정책 지원 시 전체 다문화가정을 대상으로 지원하기보다 가정형편을 고려하여 선별적으로 지원하는 것을 선호하였으며, 이에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인은 자아존중감, 문화적응 스트레스, 학력인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 향후 다문화교육 정책 지원 시 다문화가정 학생들이 ‘다문화가정’이라는 사실이 드러나지 않도록 주의해야 함과 다문화가정의 문화적인 특성을 고려하여 정책을 수립하는 것이 필요함을 제안하였다.

This study aims to have implications for the direction of establishing Korean multicultural education support policies by analyzing parents’ perceptions of multicultural education support policies and factors affecting them based on the 9th data of the 1st MAPS. To this end, we analyzed how parents of multicultural families perceive multicultural education support policies and the factors affecting them among the first data of the multicultural youth panel survey conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. The analysis results are as follows. First, parents from multicultural families preferred to support multicultural education policies so that they were not revealed to be multicultural, and cultural adaptation stress was found to have a significant effect. Second, parents from multicultural families preferred to selectively support multicultural education policies in consideration of their family conditions, and self-esteem, cultural adaptation stress, and academic background were found to have a significant impact. Based on the results of these studies, it suggests that students from multicultural families should be careful not to reveal the fact that they are “multicultural” when supporting multicultural education policies in the future, and that follow-up research is needed in consideration of the cultural characteristics of multicultural families.
