초록

이 연구에서는 정주 이주민의 부모 세대 초청과 관련된 국내외 제도 현황과 태도에 대해 분석하
였다. 이주민의 정주화와 관련하여 해외에서는 이주민의 부모초청을 유인 요인으로 고려하고
있어 정주형 이주민의 확대를 고려하는 한국의 현시점에서도 이에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 연구
에서는 먼저 한국의 부모 초청 관련 제도를 분석하였다. 이와 함께 이주민 중 다수의 출신국인
중국, 베트남, 일본의 부모 세대에 대한 돌봄에 대한 태도를 탐색하여 잠재적 요구도를 검토하
였고, 한국인의 성인-부모자녀 돌봄에 대한 태도 및 이주민 부모 초청에 대한 태도를 통해 사회
적 합의가 가능할지를 고찰하였다. 최근 이주민 부모초청 제도를 변경한 캐나다와 뉴질랜드의
사례를 통해 시사점을 살펴본 후 현행 한국의 부모 초청 관련 제도의 개선 방향을 제시하였다.

This study investigated attitudes concerning the immigrants’ invitation of foreign
parents and analyzed migration policies regarding the reunification of elderly parents.
Sponsoring elderly parents is regarded as a significant factor facilitating immigrants'
integration in certain countries. The research delved into attitudes regarding support
obligations towards elderly parents, particularly focusing on China, Vietnam, and
Japan, the primary sending countries for immigrants in Korea, to gauge their potential
needs. To assess public consensus on inviting immigrant parents, we examined
attitudes towards the relationships between adult children and their parents and
towards the invitation of immigrant parents. Recent policies in Canada and New
Zealand were compared to those in Korea regarding family sponsorship. Suggestions
were made for future policy revisions based on these findings.
