초록

본 연구는 WHO가 정신건강을 정신질환의 여부로 규정하지 않고 원만한 일상생활을 통해 신체적･정신적･사회적으로 안녕한 상태로 규정하는 것에 토대하여 탈북민이 경제-금융 생활 정착 과정에서 겪는 어려움이 그들의 정신건강에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 탐색하고 치유적 환경에 대해 논하고 있다. 탈북민은 경제-금융교육을 받아본 적 없는 문맹자로 자본주의경제-금융시스템에 무방비하게 노출되면서 경제-금융 생활 정착의 어려움을 겪게 된다. 그들의 경제-금융 정착 스트레스는 과거 트라우마 기억을 촉발하며 지금, 여기서 삶의 안녕감에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 연구를 통해 정신과적 증상발현, 심리적 고통, 복합적인 삶의 고통과 같은 정신건강의 문제점을 유발한다는 것을 밝혀냈다. 즉 경제-금융 정착의 어려움이 탈북민의 정신건강에 심각한 영향을 미치며 삶의 안녕감을 침해한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 탈북민의 정신건강을 보호하고 증진하기 위해 사회적･환경적･경제적 생활환경에 주목하고 치유적 환경으로 개선되어야 할 필요성을 성찰하였다.

The WHO does not define mental health as a mental illness, but defines it as a state of physical, mental, and social well-being through normal daily life. Based on this definition, this study explores how difficulties North Korean defectors face in the process of settling in the economic-financial sector affect their mental health and discusses the need for a healing environment. Since most North Korean defectors have never received economic-financial education, they face difficulties in settling economic-financial life due to their unprotected exposure to the capitalist economic-financial system. Their stress tends to trigger past traumatic memories, and now, here, may affect the well-being of life. Through this study, it was found that their difficulties cause mental health problems such as psychiatric symptoms, psychological pain, and complex life pain. This means that difficulties in economic-financial settlement seriously affect the mental health of North Korean defectors and violate their sense of well-being in life. Finally, in order to protect and promote the mental health of North Korean defectors, this study focused on the social, environmental, and economic living environment and suggested the need to be improved into a healing environment.
